At Mindee, we've been listening to our customers and the evolving needs of document automation. Over the past years, we've learned that businesses don't just want to extract data from documents—they want to understand, query, and act on that data with complete autonomy.

V2 represents the natural evolution of our AI-powered platform, building on the strong foundation of V1:

Both platforms share the same core AI excellence you trust, with V2 offering additional layers of intelligence and user control for those who need them.

🔧 Technical Changes

API & Integration Changes

How will API calls change in V2?

V2 has a completely different approach, where models are fully customizable and unique. As such, there is a single API route to send documents for processing. This single route requires the model ID to be given, along with other optional parameters.

The resulting output has a different output structure which is much more generic to allow for the unique and custom nature of the models.

Can I use the same V1 API keys in the V2?

No, V1 and V2 do not share API key information.

Will my existing V1 integrations break?

Paying V1 integrations will not be impacted. Paid customers will retain full access under existing contracts without a defined end date. We do encourage existing users to migrate to the V2 since we will not be adding any features to V1.

Free-tier will lose access to the service on September 15, 2025 regardless of integration.

How do authentication methods change in V2?

V2 authentication is based on the same API key system but with a dedicated set of API keys. You’ll need to create an API key on the V2 platform in order to use the service.

Are there webhook capabilities in V2?

Yes, V2 supports webhook integration for asynchronous document processing.

How do rate limits work in V2?

The Mindee API allows up to 3,000 requests per hour (120 per minute, 5 per second). If you exceed these limits, requests will be rejected. For higher volumes, contact our sales team.

Models performance

What new document types are supported in V2?

V2 is now giving the opportunity to start creating a custom extraction model for any document type.

Which countries/languages are supported in V2?

V2 models are optimized for global use, we support most languages and alphabets, and thus documents from most countries.

How has accuracy improved in V2?

V1 uses advanced vision and OCR models, while V2 also includes the latest language models and advanced ensemble learning algorithms. It also gives access to a brand new RAG feature, allowing continuous learning, and automation feature, in order to reach best in class performances to get close to human-level precision.

How does processing speed compare between V1 and V2?

Since Accuracy and Reliability are the key objectives of the V2, there may be a slight increase in response time in some cases.

Does V2 support synchronous and asynchronous modes?

V2 only supports asynchronous modes: polling and webhooks.

Can I create custom extraction templates?

Yes, V2 allows full control for the users with interactive model customization.

What file formats are supported?

Supported formats include PDF, PNG, JPEG, and TIFF, similar to V1. Multi-page PDFs and high-res images are fully compatible.

How do I optimize performances for my specific use case?

In order to optimize the performance of a given model, the first step is to optimize the data schema fields and guidelines so that the model performances are globally better. If after this step, some unexpected behavior happen on some isolated templates, the RAG feature has to be used to increase performances on these given templates, with no regression on the rest of the flow.

Development & Testing

Which programming languages are supported in V2?

We officially support Python, Node.js, Ruby, PHP, Java and .NET, when these are used in conjunction with our official client libraries.

However, any language or system able to make an HTTP call and receive a JSON response can be used and supported by the community.

Is there a sandbox environment for testing?

No. We only have one environment available, which is the one you can use for your tests.

How do I migrate my existing code to V2?

You’ll need to create a new code integration. Use one of our official client libraries to speed up this process.

What features am I losing/gaining in the transition?

With the transition to V2, you're gaining a much more powerful and flexible platform. While V1 offered prebuilt, static APIs for common document types, V2 introduces a modular and customizable approach, allowing you to build, modify, and iterate on your own extraction models. You’ll no longer use predefined endpoints — instead, you’ll create and manage models via an intuitive UI. You’ll also benefit from a brand new Confidence Score per field, now based on the value predicted itself, to help you take decisions based on mindee predictions with more confidence.

In short, you gain full control, smarter AI, and faster iteration cycles.

The only feature no longer available is the synchronous mode.

What advanced features should I consider adopting?

V2's most impactful advanced features include:

AI-Powered Model Customization:

  • Model creation and Data Schema modification using our AI assistant: Easily create custom extraction models tailored to your specific document types without technical expertise

  • Interactive model set up: Easily change the data schema to modify your model behavior in seconds by adding, modifying, removing fields and add specific guidelines.

Do you still have a roadmap for APIs of the old platform?

No — V1 APIs are no longer being developed. The focus has fully shifted to V2, which supports more advanced use cases and enables faster iteration. Free plan users will be deprecated on September 15, 2025. We strongly recommend migrating now to benefit from the improved capabilities and avoid service disruption.

What are the main pricing changes in V2?

V2 introduces a subscription-based model :

V1 Pricing (Current):

  • Pay-as-you-go: €0.10 per page

  • Enterprise packs: Custom pricing based on volumes

V2 Pricing (New):

  • Starter: €49/month (500 pages monthly, 6,000 annually, …)

  • Pro: €199/month (2,500 pages monthly, 30,000 annually, … )

  • Business: €649/month (10,000 pages monthly, 120,000 annually, …)

  • Enterprise: Custom pricing for 250K+ pages yearly

The key change is moving from pay-per-use to monthly subscriptions with included page allowances, plus access to advanced features like RAG, team collaboration, and enhanced automation tools.

What happens to my current V1 pricing and contracts?

We're committed to honoring all existing V1 agreements:

  • Pay-as-you-go customers: you can continue using V1 with existing pricing structure or decide to transition within the V2

  • Enterprise customers: Current contracts remain valid with no forced migration. You can contact our account management team to learn more about the V2.

Are there volume discounts for enterprise customers?

We offer volume discounts for customers who process over 250,000 pages per year. To discuss tailored pricing options that suit your volume requirements, please reach out to our Sales Team directly from your billing page. Our volume pricing packages feature competitive rates per page, custom Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and flexible terms.

How do overage charges work if I exceed my plan limits?

When you exceed your plan limits, overage charges are automatically billed on your credit card either when you reach €100 in overages or at the end of your subscription billing cycle, whichever comes first.

Can I try the v2 before committing to a paid plan?

The v2 offers a 14-day & 500-page free trial (no credit card required), allowing you to test all features and functionality (Continuous Learning, API Keys, Polygons,…) before committing to a paid plan.

Billing Operations

How will billing change from V1 to V2?

Payment is required upfront to access the platform and the features included in your plan. Only extra calls (if you have exceed the ones included in your plan) will be invoiced every 100€ or at the end of your subscription.

When does billing start for V2?

You will be billed as soon as you complete your subscription payment online.

What payment methods are accepted?

At this time, V2 subscriptions can only be purchased using credit cards (expect for Enterprise Plan

How do I handle tax and invoicing requirements?

You can see all the details about your pending subscription by clicking on “Manage Plan” under the billing section.

Data Protection & Privacy

What changes to data processing and localization?

You can now set yourself the data processing rules directly in the Settings Page of each model. To see more details about those parameters, you can check the Model Settings page.

How does data residency work in V2?

Mindee V2 allows you to choose your data residency region (EU or US) at the model level, with the Model Settings page. All document processing and storage then take place exclusively in that region, ensuring compliance with local regulations.

What regions are available for data processing?

Currently, you can choose between Europe (EU) and United States (US) for your data processing region.

How is my data protected during RAG processing?

In RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), your data remains private and isolated within your model. All documents added to your RAG database are encrypted in transit and at rest. No data is shared across customers, and the AI does not train on your data globally — only your private models benefit from your inputs.

Are there changes to data retention policies?

Yes. In V2, you have more control over retention. You can set everything up using the Model Settings page.

Is Mindee still GDPR & SOC 2 Type II compliant with the V2?

Yes. Mindee V2 is fully GDPR-compliant and maintains its SOC 2 Type II certification, ensuring rigorous security controls, data protection standards, and transparency for enterprise needs.

What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?

If you cancel your subscription, your data will be retained for 30 days to allow for potential reactivation or export. After this grace period, your documents and models will be automatically deleted, in accordance with our data lifecycle policy.

Can I request data deletion at any time?

Yes. You can request full or partial data deletion at any time by contacting support, or by using the deletion features available in your model settings, depending on your plan. Mindee ensures that your data is securely and permanently removed upon request.

How do I migrate from V1 to V2?

V2 is available now and ready for production use. Here's our V1 availability timeline:

V1 Availability:

  • Pay-per-use customers: V1 remains fully available with no discontinuation date planned

  • Enterprise clients: V1 remains fully available with no discontinuation date planned, under existing contract terms with full support

  • Free tier users: V1 access will be discontinued mid-September 2025

Key Dates:

  • Now: V2 fully available for all customers

  • September 15, 2025: Free V1 access ends (free users must migrate to V2)

  • Ongoing: Paid V1 services continue with full support

We're committed to maintaining V1 for our paying customers while encouraging exploration of V2's enhanced capabilities.

When will V2 be available and when will V1 be discontinued?

V2 is already available and V1 will be discontinued for free plan users ONLY on September 25th, 2025. For the paying customers on V1, no sunset date available yet.

Can I run V1 and V2 in parallel during migration?

Yes, absolutely. Running both platforms in parallel is not only supported but recommended for a smooth transition

No, you’ll need to manually re-upload the documents to your RAG for instance. For Enterprise users, we can offer this transition as a service.

What about existing webhooks and callbacks?

You’ll need to reconfigure webhooks in V2 as the endpoint structure and authentication method differ from V1.
